Best Womens Hiking Shoes

I have worn several different shoes, boots and sandals on my hikes – some good, some bad. I’d have to say my favorite brands right now are Keen and Merrell. And I happen like looking relatively cute when I hike, so I’ve tried to find the best-looking women’s hiking shoes.

Below is a list of the shoes we typically recommend to our clients for various types of hiking. (And don’t forget to download your free hiking packing list at the end.)

Womens Hiking Shoes

Keen Class 5 Tech shoe – Almost out of stock, hurry! We love this shoe. They are very lightweight. It’s a very versatile shoe you can use the this shoe for water hikes as well as mountain hikes. I have converted to sock-less hiking on every dry, mountain hike I do, because of how comfortable and foot-friendly I find these. These hiking shoes also come in a variety of colors for both men and women. It has good water drainage, and it keeps out a lot of small debris. This shoe is great for hiking mountains or slot canyons. Too bad Keen isn’t producing more right now! We found a few left in stock here.

Keen Newport H2 Sandal  – great for sand hikes or water hikes. (I loved wearing them when we hiked Lower Hackberry Canyon). Some sizes are running out of stock so hurry on this one too!

Zoom Wildhorse : These are my favorite shoes for hiking up a mountain or on slick rock are her Zoom Wildhorse Nike shoes because they have sticky soles. They are trail running shoes, but work great for any hike where you need good grip. But Nike is not producing them right now so they’re almost out of stock! We found a few left in stock here.

Merrell Waterpro Maipo: These are amphibious shoes, which means they can transition from wet and dry hiking. So pretty much you can wear them on any hike. Which is awesome. I haven’t tried these shoes yet, but I’m dying to.

If you’re looking for hiking boots, here are some good options:

Keen Women’s Targhee II Mid Hiking Shoe – waterproof with padded ankle support and great traction. Good for mountain hikes or desert hikes.

Keen Koven Mid WP – boot for hiking mountains
